Overview

This article describes all the features that are generally shared between Shape Layers. Some shape layers may have more, fewer or slightly different versions of these parameters, depending on what provides the best functionality for them.

Operations

These modes control how the layer is inserted into the terrain. The following combination operations are available:

Overwrite
Add
Min
Max

Interpolation Mode

This setting is only available for image based shape layers where pixels have to be converted into terrain data. The mode controls how the difference in resolution and pixel density gets interpolated.

Linear
Catmull-Rom
Nearest

Parameters

  • Operation
How the shape will be inserted into the terrain.

  • Interpolation Mode
Different interpolation modes for texture sampling.

  • Height Offset
Shifts the height of the shape layer.

  • Height Scale
Scales the height of the shape layer.

  • Height Blending
Controls the blending area between shape layer and the rest of the terrain.

  • Multiple Steps
Allows you to switch between inserting the shape layer at a singular level steps or with varying strength over multiple levels.
