How to incorporate a Landscape Layer into your terrain

Similar to other Shape Layers, the Landscape Layer provides you with the classical blending operations that come with areas in World Creator. As a result, you can seamlessly blend it with different blending modes and achieve a smooth and rounded interpolation.


The most important parameter, however, is the Level Step which is further explained in this article. Specify the World Creator terrain upsampling and filtering level in which the Landscape Layer will be inserted into the terrain. Choosing a lower layer results in losing some details generated by the Landscape Layer but allows more levels in which World Creators filters can work. Choosing a higher level provides more detail from the Landscape Layer, but results in a loss of some editing power provided by the filters.


If the Landscape Layer does not appear on your selected level step, it may be due to a higher biomes level step or another shape layer overwriting it.
